Ask the Seller: 2 Pound Rd, Hollis, NH

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in one of LandVests properties? We invite our owners to tell us a bit about their experience, what they love about their homes, and a bit of their history. Here is what the owners of 2 Pound Rd, Hollis told us about their property, how they came to own it, and what they love about living here.

Love at first sight!

We were looking for a small horse farm and we stumbled upon this property on the way back from skiing. We saw a sign for Hollis and remembered that we had seen it listed on an equine web site and decided to stop on our way home. It was love at first sight. Once we researched the school system, we had to move there!

Hollis is such a beautiful, small, farming community with a big equestrian presence. It is close to ALL the amenities that we could ever want, and with a husband that travels extensively, it is very easy access to both Boston Logan and Manchester/Boston airports. Having direct access to miles of trails for mountain biking or trail riding and feeling comfortable letting the kids walk/bike to school or into town, even to their first jobs has been wonderful.

What is your favorite room in the house?

I asked the entire family this question and we all had different answers!
Mom - I love the piece of original stenciling in the living room. It is a more formal room and sitting in that room at night with candles is SO peaceful. The energy is warm and full of stories. I know its corny, but it really fills me with happiness. I enjoy imagining the various families that have gathered in that room over the last 230 years.
Dad the den. He loves the views: watching the wildlife and horses. It is comfortable and full of family memories.
Kids they each love their bedrooms!

What are some things that make this property special?

We have done a LOT of land improvements that in my opinion have made this farm spectacular. The large deck is a great spot for entertaining with beautiful views. The pellet stove is so cozy and does an incredible job heating the house in winter. Adding the first-floor bedroom suite is my favorite improvement and being able to watch the horses from my bedroom window is the BEST!

Do you have a favorite spot on the property?

The barn! I really love my barn, Its not fancy, but it is perfect!

Why are you moving?

We are relocating to Florida for business reasons.
