If this blog were a movie, it might open with the cacophony of a family racing to pack up the car, the excitement of the imminent adventure palpable. Wed cut to a map with the three-and-a-half-hour drive from Cambridge mapped out with callouts showing obligatory ice cream breaks, the country store visit, the local brewery stop, then wed cut back to each member of the family listing what they were most excited to do when they arrive. The obvious is the golf course, but you dont have to look much further to find a ton of activities to keep even the pickiest of family members happy.
Just out the back door of the renovated antique colonial are the bocce and the hard-surface tennis courts, both with galleries. Grab a partner and play away! The park-like grounds also include 6 ponds. You dont even have to wait for warm weather to take advantage of them; strap on your ice skates when theyre frozen over.
Explore the rest of the property along over 10 miles of trails. Go by foot, ATV, snowmobile, skis, or horse. Two fenced paddocks and a two-stall barn provide space to bring your horses home, and there are additional sheds and outbuildings to house recreational vehicles, too.
At the end of the trails, youll find a mountaintop vista campsite with spectacular views. Carry up the ingredients for a mid-hike dinner and grill it up while looking out over the Adirondacks, Killington, Pico, and the Lake George, New York area. Make the most of your time up high to practice your shooting, too.
After a long day out on the property, come home to a fire by the water and a pie straight out of the pizza oven on the patio.
