While there may be a country store or two a bit closer to the historic Wilson Tavern, its worth the 13 mile drive to the Francestown Village Store #9, the third oldest continuously operating country store in America. On a recent visit I found great deli sandwiches, an amazing selection of craft beers, freshly made meals to go, delicious homemade cider doughnuts, and catering services. I was delighted to see that the original cash register from the 1800s is still in use for local tabs, and the current one dates to 1913. The old fashioned Coca Cola machine still works!
