Every Fourth of July, people flood to New Englands lakes. For generations, people have been eager to get out on the water, take in gorgeous scenery, and enjoy bustling lake towns. So, when Travel + Leisure was putting together their list of the countrys 15 Best Lake Towns, its no surprise that three of our favorites were included.

Rangeley, Maine

This certainly isnt the first time the Rangeley Lakes Region has been in the spotlight. Rand McNally described the area as one of Americas few remaining vacation spots where one can truly escape most of the disadvantages of civilization.
