Ask the Seller: Little Freese Island in ME

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in one of LandVests properties? We invite our owners to tell us a bit about their experience, what they love about their homes and a bit of their history. Here is what the owner of Little Freese Island in Deer Isle told us about his property, what life is like on the island and what he loves about it. LittleFreese1

Maine is dotted with hundreds of small islands, and it is the fortunate few who get to experience the peaceful existence on one of those properties. Little Freese Island is one of the few small islands that has been developed.

What is life on an island like?

When we wake up on a summer morning, we might take our coffee out onto the deck and soak in the morning sun while observing nature and any boats that might be on the water.

We read and get ready for the days outings. Maybe well take a kayak journey, maybe a trip into town to the farmers market or store for provisions, we might visit an art gallery or maybe after a stroll around the island, we just sit and enjoy the quiet.

Friends might stop by with their sailboat, and ask us to go for an afternoons sail. At the end of the day we have a tradition to get a beverage and set up our chairs on what we call Big Rock, a granite outcropping perfect for sitting and watching the light play against the water.

There are so many things to do in the Deer Isle/Blue Hill peninsula that it is tempting to leave this beautiful spot, but we often just look at ourselves and decide to stay put. We often have friends and family join us and we cook together, play cards and reconnect in a way that only such a beautiful setting and quiet place can encourage.

Life is good on Little Freese!
