Stephen J. Mongan is an industry veteran, currently serving as Chairman of the Board. Steve joined LandVest in 1979 as a forestland manager, working throughout New England and the Adirondacks. After working in resource management, Steve was tapped to develop a strategic plan for growth in LandVest’s timberland transaction and management businesses.  For three decades thereafter he directed LandVest’s Timberland Division, growing the company outside of its New England roots, into national prominence. In 2010, he was appointed to the role of President.  Steve retired in 2015 but has remained a principal owner and Director, serving on several committees, including Executive, Finance and Compensation.

Mr. Mongan earned a BS in Forest Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1976. Prior to university, he served in the U.S. Air Force (1968-72.)
