Sam Porter joined LandVest in 2019 as Director of Timberlands Marketing for the Western U.S. His work focuses on timberland marketing assignments throughout the region and building long-term relationships with landowners and clients.

Sam Porter joined LandVest in 2019 as Director of Timberlands Marketing for the Western U.S. His work focuses on timberland marketing assignments throughout the region and building long-term relationships with landowners and clients.

Prior to joining LandVest, Sam was President of a privately held 640,000-acre timber company in south-central Oregon, where he led the development and execution of a large-scale fiber utilization strategy focused on restoring and thinning overstocked Ponderosa pine and lodgepole plantations. When ownership decided to sell the company, Sam engaged LandVest to manage the marketing and divestiture process.

In addition to his timberland experience, Sam’s background includes roles as a law firm partner in San Francisco, General Counsel for a global manufacturing company, CEO/Executive Director of a nonprofit serving adults with developmental disabilities, and President and CEO of a Medicare Advantage health insurance company. His broad operational and leadership experience brings a practical, well-rounded perspective to timberland transactions across the western U.S.
