Inventory Manager - Lowville, New York 

Rick is the Director of Inventory and Analytics at LandVest and is the lead and manager of forest inventory projects where he works closely with a Forest Analyst to deliver project summaries and reports. He also manages and mentors the Strike Force and acquires new inventory clients and projects for LandVest. A love of the outdoors and wildlife led him to Penn State where he earned his bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science – minoring in forest science – in 2000. Prior to working for LandVest, Rick was a Procurement Forester for Fitzpatrick & Weller (2002-2004) and Baillie Lumber (2004-2005) where he purchased standing timber and logs for sawmills. He was also a Forest Manager for Upland Forestry from 2005 to 2009 where he managed Chateaugay Woodlands, a working forest in Clinton and Franklin Counties in New York. Rick is certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute, a Society of American Foresters Certified Forester, and a Licensed Forester with the State of Vermont. Additionally, he is a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters, Society of American Foresters, and the Empire State Forest Products Association. In his free time Rick enjoys downhill skiing, trail running, hunting, fishing, farming, homesteading, and running a Woodmizer sawmill.  

Rick has worked for LandVest since 2009 and when asked what he likes best he replied, “Working for LandVest allows me a career in forestry while maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit with like-minded co-workers who are really more like friends.”
