After many seasons of visiting, experiencing, and learning about the island, Elise Jeffress Ryan is delighted to now be working on Martha's Vineyard, and in Osterville as a member, too,  of the Cape Cod Team,  helping people search for, and find, just the right home from which they can connect for vacation, family gatherings, and the renowned Vineyard lifestyle. Generations of her family have created memories here and now Elise hopes to make those generational experiences possible for her clients.

Elise's prior experience marketing golf and waterfront communities for the Golf and WaterViewHome Networks has prepared her well for introducing the island and its widely varied real estate to buyers. Her love of languages also makes her the ideal agent for international buyers with her fluency in French and German, which she taught for 25 years at the Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore. She is fascinated by the multitude of island nationalities and experiences that make Martha's Vineyard as rich in people as it is in beautiful natural resources, the arts, and sporting pursuits.

Most recently her personal connection with Daniel Féau Imoobilier (and Paola Féau) in Paris further reinforces her global connection, resulting in the presence of one of our West Chop Listings in the Christie’s Féau International Magazine and on “les belles demeures de France” websites. 

Elise has been involved in the Vineyard Haven / West Chop community for more than 35 years. She and her significant other have been supporters of the Red Stocking Fund, the MV Playhouse, Vineyard Family Tennis, Sail MV, and the Island Grown Initiative. Elise revels in her longtime membership at West Chop Club and the Vineyard Haven Yacht Club. 

Her son and daughter remain annual visitors, now bringing granddaughter, Lucy, to share island sports now including horseback riding and fishing and to further generational connections.  

Elise is a fan of the architecture (& Universal Design ideas) of Michael Graves, Debra Cedeno, RM Stern & Roger Seifter, loves watching tennis & squash matches, swimming in salt water, the sea air, sailing, biking, trying new recipes, photography, and creating drinks with her Nespresso machine.

Elise has lived in Washington, DC, Berlin, Germany, Princeton, and Baltimore. She loves to travel and is still "learning to sail" after all these years!
