Christopher H. Christopher H. Bowler, MAI, SRA, CRE®, is a Senior Appraiser and Advisor at LandVest, joining the firm in April of 2022.  Mr. Bowler was previously the Senior Associate at Avery Associates from 1992-2022.  Mr. Bowler has been a professional appraiser since 1987 and is a Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI, SRA) and The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE®).  He was President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Appraisal Institute in 2008.  

Mr. Bowler has prepared appraisals of apartment complexes, office buildings, industrial buildings, shopping centers, research and development facilities, hotels/motels, golf courses, restaurants, laboratory-life sciences buildings, medical office buildings, auto dealerships, truck terminals, warehouses, bank branches, commercial and industrial condominium units and buildings, lumber yards, service stations, industrial mill buildings, and cranberry bogs.

Mr. Bowler's experience also includes the appraisal of large tracts of land, conservation restrictions, proposed developments; condominium projects, mixed use retail and residential, and traditional single family subdivisions.  Mr. Bowler has prepared market and feasibility analyses for proposed developments of both residential and commercial projects.

Notable recent assignments include:

• Appraisal of the Cape Cod Mall.
• Appraisal of the New Balance corporate headquarters in Brighton.
•  Appraisal of 12,000 acres of land in SE Massachusetts.
• Eminent domain appraisals involving over 30 takings in the Towns of Acton, Belmont, Weston and Melrose.  
• Appraisal of over 25 luxury apartment communities for a national REIT. 

Mr. Bowler has qualified as an expert witness in the Massachusetts Land Court and Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board.  He is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, NY (1987) with a degree in Economics.  In addition to numerous courses taken from the Appraisal Institute, Mr. Bowler has completed Argus Software training.  

Chris and his wife Kathy have lived in Arlington, MA since 1994 and have two children, Sarah and Adam, and a Norwegian Elkhound named Isaac.
