Rock Lake

Rock Lake is likely the most private and wholly owned lake in the Adirondacks. The spectacular 195 acre, 1.5-mile-long lake, is the pride of the property’s surrounding 2900 +/- acres, which are adjacent on three-sides to more than 125,000 acres of New York State Forever Wild land.

• Rock Lake is one of the last privately owned pieces of the fabled 45,000-acre Ne-Ha-Sa-Ne Park, created by William Seward Webb and his wife, Lila Vanderbilt, circa 1892. It is now offered for the first time in more than 125 years.
• Rock lake boasts excellent hunting as well as a first-rate brook trout fishery, managed by Cornell University for more than 40 years. Loon, deer, bear, otter, turkey, game birds, eagles, and moose are regularly seen.
• Some distance from the lake, the property also encompasses nearly a half-mile of double bank ownership of the Beaver River, as well as the upper end of (and boat access to) the entirety of the Stillwater Reservoir.
• A main camp, magical guest cabin and boathouse all sit at water's edge with commanding views of the lake. High Speed internet/TV/Phone available by installed small dish satellite. Access is by gated gravel road, via the Lake Lila Access Road.
• Rock Lake is protected by a very early conservation easement (1978), reducing the real estate taxes to exceptionally low levels. Additionally, for expansion or further conservation opportunities, there are four APA approved building sites around Rock Lake’s shoreline, designed for maximum privacy.
