A rare opportunity to own approximately 120 acres of outstanding Northwoods timberland near Chaney Lake! Comprised of three contiguous 40-acre parcels, this impressive tract offers tremendous privacy, excellent hunting and recreational potential, established access from Lakeshore Drive, and an exceptional stand of mature northern hardwoods. The property is dominated by mature maple, along with hemlock, birch, popple and basswood, and much of the acreage has not been logged in approximately 60 years, creating tremendous timber potential. A selective harvest could provide significant value while still preserving the beauty and character of the land. Tucked deep in the woods is an old 16' x 24' log cabin offering approximately 384 square feet of rustic, off-grid space. The cabin is in need of substantial rehabilitation and leveling, but provides a great starting point for a hunting camp or secluded Northwoods retreat. Existing woods roads and trails provide access into the acreage, with additional clearing offering the opportunity to open the property further. This is classic big-woods country with abundant wildlife habitat, beautiful rolling hardwood terrain and exceptional privacy. Whether your goal is hunting, timber investment, recreation, a private family retreat or simply owning a substantial piece of the Western U.P., properties with this combination of acreage, mature hardwoods and an existing cabin are increasingly difficult to find.
