Step into history and write your next chapter at The D.C. Prince House (1922). Tucked within Schenectady's legendary GE Realty Plot, this architectural masterpiece offers an extraordinary opportunity to restore and steward a true piece of American legacy. Designed by Prix de Rome winner Thomas Ellet, this grand English cottage was inspired by the timeless elegance of an 18th-century English country estate-built as a private sanctuary for one of General Electric's most prolific inventors. Every detail tells a story, down to the hand-carved front entry lintel by world-renowned sculptor Paul Manship, famous for creating the iconic Prometheus statue at Rockefeller Center. Anchoring a commanding corner lot on Wendell Avenue, the home's stunning profile is perfectly balanced by copper-capped chimneys and a charming wren-house motif above the attached, heated two-car garage. Featuring sprawling living spaces, fascinating historical features (including the original basement school room!), and undeniable character, this "Grand Dame" is ready for a visionary buyer to honor her rich heritage while infusing fresh modern luxury. Bring your dreams and create a show stopping historic landmark for the modern era! AI generated images do not convey usability or safety or fireplaces.
