Interior Features
- Interior Features:
- From 2015 to 2017, the house, circa 1776 was completely gutted down-to-its-studs, restored, and redesigned to create a modern comfortable floorplan (See Improvements summary). The mudroom, breezeway, porches, and garage workshop were built new from the ground up.
- The mix of original features such as exposed beams and reclaimed wide plank floors (upstairs) with new materials and modern comforts throughout creates a relaxed and cheerful interior. The level of quality and craftsmanship is consistently applied.
- The downstairs is comprised of a large mudroom which leads into the kitchen with an open floorplan to the dining and living areas. A Âľ bathroom is located between the kitchen and study. The study can also serve as a first-floor bedroom.
- The kitchen has a large island with a granite countertop, stainless sink, and lots of storage in the cabinetry underneath; high end stainless appliances, tiled back splash, additional cabinetry on either side of the stove as well as built-ins made of reclaimed wood. A sliding glass door leads to the covered porch outside.
- Like the kitchen, the dining and living areas are inviting and comfortable. A flat-black woodstove with glass door is a soothing focal point while the views of Mount Moosilauke are a constant distraction. The dining area has two chandeliers, and the space can fit a long table. There are recessed ceiling lights throughout the entire open-space area.
- All the floors on the first level, except for slate in the mudroom, are ceramic tile with a distressed finish that looks like wood. All the floors upstairs and downstairs have radiant heating.
- Two staircases lead to the second floor. The first leads from the kitchen to the primary bedroom with ensuite Âľ bathroom. The second staircase goes from the living area to an upstairs hallway with two additional bedrooms and another Âľ bathroom. There is also a pocket door that connects the primary suite with the hallway upstairs.
- The primary bedroom includes exposed beams, wide-plank wood floors, twin closets, laundry room and utility closet. The views east of Mount Moosilauke and south down the Connecticut river are stunning.
- The ensuite Âľ bathroom includes a custom-built vanity with two sinks, exposed beams, heated hydronic towel bars, tiled floor, and shower, two shower heads including a ceiling-mounted rain shower and glass doors.
- The two additional bedrooms upstairs are comfortable in size with large closets, wide-pine floors, exposed beams and windows with long-range views
- The other Âľ bathroom is also tiled with glass doors, a single vanity and heated hydronic towel rack.
- In the hall next to this bathroom, a doorway opens to a set of unfinished stairs that lead to the third-floor attic. The unfinished attic is insulated with high ceilings and a double-hung Marvin window on each end.
- The garage workshop is fully insulated with spray foam and has a radiant heated cement slab. The walls are finished with painted plywood. It has two 12-foot-tall overhead doors with insulated glass and is long enough to park two cars deep on each side and still have room for storage or shop benches. Upstairs is a large, insulated loft, unfinished, with high ceilings and windows on each end.
